Delivery and collection – NEONATAL
On-site collection in standard or palletised order – fast, clearly identifiable process
PharmaRosa® NEONATAL propagation material is handed over by on-site collection. The collection order can be standard or palletised. This page is intended to ensure that collection is fast, complete and clearly identifiable, and that the quality of the propagation material is reliably “carried over” into further cultivation at your nursery.

In brief – the key to successful collection
- Collection: on-site collection in standard or palletised order.
- Time = quality: potting preferably on the day of collection, at latest within a few days.
- Storage: only in cool and light conditions; dark storage may lead to loss of quality.
- Collection check: batch identification (variety, quantity), rapid condition check.
- “Send it out dry”: reduction of fungal risk in logistics (foliage should not be wet).

Collection options
1) On-site collection – standard order
- For smaller batches or when flexible, fast collection is required.
- Identification of trays by variety and quantity.
2) On-site collection – palletised order
- For larger batches and scheduled logistics.
- Faster loading and more organised batch handling.
The exact collection order (standard/palletised) and on-site details are fixed during coordination.
Collection checklist (for Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V)
- Identification: variety + number of trays + number of plants (10 pcs/tray, trays are not to be split).
- Condition: uniform development; root system woven through the plug; visual inspection for damage.
- Documentation: collection date + quick condition photo (at tray level) for your own traceability.
- Timing: record when potting/planting out will take place (ideal: the same day).
- Transport from the site: secured, stable, without overheating or drying out.
First 24 hours after collection – “time = quality”
Ideal scenario
- Potting/planting on the day of collection (the safest option).
- If plants have to wait: keep them in a cool, light place, not in the dark.
- Avoid sudden overheating (stretching, softer tissues) and drying out.
Technology routes: A) Polytunnel B) Cold house C) Outdoor D) Field
Short-term storage rules (if unavoidable)
- Cool + light + well ventilated – this is the minimum.
- Dark storage can lead to quality loss in a short time and increases the risk of Botrytis.
- Trays should not stand in a closed, humid space (do not “wrap in” the moisture).
Note: NEONATAL is not a long-storage product; the aim is rapid transfer into your growing technology.
Why is it important in the collection chain as well: “send it out dry”?
Fungal risk often starts in logistics: if foliage is wet and trays are standing in an enclosed space, humidity is “trapped” and quality deteriorates rapidly. Therefore, during dispatch and collection the basic principle is: foliage should not remain wet for a prolonged period, and batches should be handled with good air movement.
Detailed protocol: “Send it out dry” →
Typical mistakes (and quick corrections)
- Trays left unprocessed for days: quality loss → schedule potting before collection.
- Dark storage: Botrytis risk → use only light, cool and well-ventilated conditions.
- Overheating during transport: stretching → cool, shaded transport conditions.
- Humid, enclosed waiting area: “trapped moisture” → ensure ventilation and air flow.
